What's in each template

Every sheet carries the same columns payroll needs: day, time in, time out, break start/end, break minutes, decimal hours, rate, and amount — plus totals rows for hours, overtime hours, and gross pay, and signature lines for employee and supervisor. The PDF prints blank on US Letter; the XLSX opens in Excel, Numbers, and LibreOffice; the CSV imports anywhere.

Template or calculator?

Templates are for the paper workflow — hand it to a employee, get it signed, file it. When you want totals, overtime, and pay computed automatically (and saved between visits), use the time card calculator instead — it exports the same PDF layout with your data filled in.

Frequently asked questions

Are these timesheet templates really free?
Yes — every template on this page is free to download, print, copy, and use inside your company. No registration, no email wall, no watermarks.
Which format should I use?
PDF for printing and hand-filling; Excel (.xlsx) if you want the sheet to total hours with formulas (add a SUM in the hours column); CSV for importing into payroll systems or Google Sheets.
Weekly, biweekly, or monthly?
Match your pay period. Weekly and biweekly are most common for hourly workers; monthly fits salaried staff. Overtime is calculated per workweek regardless of template length — see the overtime calculator.
Can I put these in Google Sheets?
Yes — see the Google Sheets guide: upload the .xlsx or import the CSV and it opens as a live sheet.
